Staying open to unexpected job opportunities, such as this story about a homeowner and Empire Today Careers!

Well, this was an unexpected finishing touch to the interior design project a friend had done on her fixer-upper house…she wound up with a job! I'm sharing this story, given the economic times we're in, as encouragement. You never know where a job might be around the corner, so stay open and alert to where your interests may take you! My friend had always had an interest in interior design. Her father being a builder, she grew up learning about the fundamentals of building a home from sometimes watching her dad work and often hearing him talk about it. She was always particularly interested in the floors… somehow, for her, that was always the most gratifying part of seeing a house really come together. In fact, for the interior design job she was having done to her house, the part that intrigued her the most was-true to form-the flooring! She had that part done by Empire Today, and in talking with the installers, the conversation led to the mention of Empire Today Careers…which ultimately led to her getting a sales representative job! Now she gets to talk about something she really enjoys-flooring-as part of her living, though she otherwise wouldn't have thought about pursuing this. So I hope this may encourage some people to follow where their interests may take them…and possibly find an unexpected job there!
